by Alessandro Coraglia
This drawing was born by an old Photo that I shot for a Photoshop course that I have created several years ago.
It represents some ice blocks that fall into a glass of water making squirts everywhere.
It is one of my first drawings.
The supplies that I have used are quality fabriano paper (Artistico) 100% cotton hot pressed.
Pencils that I have used: Derwent H, HB, 2B and 4B pencils (usually I prefer Koh-I-Noor, but it's a difficult brand to be found where I live)
I have blended the background with a piece of cotton and I have used some stumps and cotton buds to blend within the glass (not everything).
The most challenging part to draw was the background. As a novice I have hard times in the organization of the job. As this was the first time I was drawing such a complex subject with such as a wide uniform background I was very concerned about making a perfect smooth shading. Finally I came up with a too uniform background that I had to make some darker stains somewhere.
