Basic Framework for Charmeleon

We need to organize where we will be placing Charmeleon's head and body. First, draw a circle for the head and in the center draw a "+" for the face and below that a line for the mouth. Now, under that, draw a circle for the body and a line for the legs and arms. Next, around the head circle draw a line that curves out to form the mouth and nose. Now along the line for the nose, draw the horn that goes off the back of the head.

Outlining Body and Arms

Now we can fill in the body. From the bottom of the head lines, curve around the body line to form the tummy. Make sure to leave a gap for the arm on the right. Then, let's put in the arms. Draw two arms along the arm guides we drew earlier and connect each side back to the body to form the arms.

Outlining the Legs and Tail

Next, let's add in the legs, draw a line from the body around the leg lines and then attching back at the body on the other side. Make sure they have some curves to look like legs. Now, add in a little trail around the line we added from the body. Start thicker near the body and come to a point at the tip of the tail. Lastly, add in a mouth that curves upwards towards your eye line.

Adding The Details

We are almost done with our tutorial on how to draw Charmeleon. Let's add in the eyes. They should be triangles with round edges. Put one on each side of the face line we drew earlier. Now, add in some claws to the bottom of the feet using "V" shapes that are closed with a curve. Add the flame to the tip of the tail. You can start with a teardrop shape and then make the edges ragged for the fire.

We can finish up the eyes by adding in some curved lines for the eye and the pupil. Now, let's clean up our guidelines so that we have a finished drawing to color in.

Now that you know how to draw Charmeleon, you can color your finished drawing. I hope you enjoyed drawing Mew.
